Your First Look

A friendly guide walks you through everything

When you open Staff Hub for the first time, you'll be greeted by our friendly assistant, Buddy, who offers a quick guided tour.

Take the guided tour

Click "Show Me Around" and Buddy will walk you through the main sections of the dashboard, highlighting where everything is.

3

Create Your First Training

Build training content your team will actually enjoy

Training Modules The training page where you create and manage all your courses

Training is at the heart of Staff Hub. Here's how to create your first training module in just a few clicks.

1

Go to Training in the sidebar

Click "Training" in the left sidebar to open the training page.

2

Choose a starting point

In the web app, choose Create your own to write training, or Browse library for a ready-made template. Your training stays separate from the library so staff material is easy to find.

3

Add lessons

Each module can have multiple lessons. Add text, images, or video links. Write it like you're explaining to a friend.

4

Add a quiz (optional)

Test what your staff learned with a quick quiz. Multiple choice, true/false, or open-ended questions.

5

Review before sharing

Web library templates open for review. Edit the lessons and choose Save draft to keep them private, or confirm your review and publish when ready. Publishing makes the module available to your team. If you change a lesson, check its quiz in Quiz Builder too.

Learning Paths

Bonus: Create a Learning Path

Want staff to complete training in a specific order? Go to "Learning Paths" and chain multiple modules together into a guided sequence. Perfect for onboarding new hires. (Available on Pro & Enterprise plans)

4

Communicate with Your Team

Keep everyone informed and connected

Staff Hub gives you several ways to share information and stay connected with your team.

Announcements

On the web, open Communication → Announcements; in Shopify, choose Announcements, then "New Announcement." Write your message, and your entire team will see it. You can even track who's read it.

Tips & Best Practices

Go to "Tips" to share helpful advice. Staff can also submit their own tips for you to approve. Great for sharing product knowledge.

Messaging & Channels

Use "Channels" for topic-based conversations (like a #general or #sales channel). Staff can also send direct messages to each other.

Polls

Need quick feedback? Go to "Polls" and create a question with options. See results in real-time as your team votes.

Complete staff profiles

Add job roles, assigned locations, POS role details, payroll export IDs, compensation settings, and commission eligibility before publishing schedules.

Create schedules and time-off rules

Build shifts, manage availability, review time-off requests, and publish schedules so staff can see upcoming work on mobile.

Confirm fit before using time-clock workflows

Have a manager run a test clock-in, break, clock-out, correction, and timesheet approval before using the workflow for payroll exports.
