Accessibility at Staff Hub
We want the Staff Hub marketing site and the Staff Hub application to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on keyboards, screen readers, zoom and magnification, and other assistive technologies. Accessibility is something we take seriously and treat as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time task.
Our Target Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This is an aim and an ongoing effort. We have not undergone a formal third-party audit and make no claim of full certified conformance. Where we fall short of the standard, we want to know so we can improve.
What We Have Done
Steps we have taken to improve accessibility across the marketing site and app:
-
Semantic structure and landmarks. Pages use
appropriate HTML elements — headings, lists, buttons, links, and
landmark regions (
header, main, footer, nav) — so screen reader users can navigate by structure. - Keyboard navigation. Interactive controls are reachable and operable by keyboard. Visible focus indicators are provided so keyboard users can see where they are on the page.
-
Reduced-motion preference. Where animations and
transitions are used, we respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query to avoid discomfort for users who have requested reduced motion. - Color contrast. We aim for sufficient contrast between text and backgrounds in line with WCAG AA requirements. We review contrast as part of design changes.
-
Alternative text. Meaningful images carry
descriptive
altattributes. Decorative images use an emptyalt=""so screen readers skip them. - Responsive and zoom-friendly layout. The site and app are designed to reflow and remain usable when text is enlarged or the viewport is resized, including on mobile devices.
- ARIA labels. Where native HTML semantics alone are not sufficient, we add ARIA labels and roles to help assistive technologies convey purpose — for example, on icon-only buttons and navigation regions.
Known Limitations and Ongoing Work
Accessibility improvement is continuous. We are aware of the following limitations:
- Third-party embeds. Some content — such as embedded video players — is provided by third parties and may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA in all respects. We have no direct control over the accessibility of those third-party interfaces, though we try to use them in ways that minimise barriers (for example, providing visible play-button controls and descriptive labels).
- Complex interactive components. Some advanced UI components — such as rich-text editors and data tables in the application — may have accessibility gaps that we are working to address as we develop and improve those features.
- Ongoing review. We have not audited every page and every user flow. Issues may exist that we have not yet identified. We welcome reports (see below).
We review accessibility as part of our regular development cycle and address reported issues as promptly as our capacity allows.
Get Help or Report a Problem
If you encounter a barrier using this site or the Staff Hub app, we would like to know. Please email us at [email protected] and include:
- The URL of the page or screen where you encountered the issue
- Your browser and version (for example, Chrome 125 on Windows 11)
- The assistive technology you were using, if any (for example, NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, or keyboard only)
- A brief description of what happened and what you expected to happen
We aim to respond to accessibility queries promptly and to work toward a practical resolution where one is possible.
