Learning Center / First setup
Create your first staff announcement
The fastest useful Staff Hub setup is one manager announcement that your team actually needs this week.
When to use an announcement
Use an announcement when the update is short and time-sensitive.
- Staff need to read it before a shift.
- The manager needs to know who saw it.
- The topic does not need a full reusable training module yet.
Good first announcements
- Weekend returns reminder.
- Opening or closing change.
- New product briefing.
- Safety or customer-service reminder.
- Holiday trading update.
Write the announcement
Keep the first announcement short. Use this structure:
- Title: one clear sentence.
- Summary: why staff need to read it.
- Body: what changed and what staff should do.
Example announcement
Title: Returns reminder for weekend team Summary: Please read this before Saturday trading. Body: Customers with a receipt can receive a refund or exchange within the usual return window. Gift receipt returns should be exchange only. If an item is damaged or the customer is unsure, ask the manager on duty before agreeing anything.
Publish and check read receipts
- Open Announcements.
- Create a new announcement.
- Add the title, summary, and body.
- Publish it.
- Ask one staff member to read it.
- Check read status after they open it.
What success looks like
Success is not a full rollout. Success is one real announcement published and a manager able to see whether staff have read it.
When to use training instead
Use a training module if the same topic will be reused for new starters, seasonal staff, or repeated store processes.
